What is a franchise or master franchise?

A franchise (franquicia) is an agreement or license between two parties which gives an individual or group (the franchisee) the rights to market a product or service using the trademark of another business (the franchisor).

A Master franchise license allows the master to sub-franchise in their own country.

A business opportunity is very similar but cannot be legally referred to as a franchise.
